Toán 5 - Tiết 17 - Problem Solving Directly Proportional Steps PDF Print E-mail

Bài giảng Toán 5 - Tiết 17 - Luyện tập  về giải toán Problem Solving Directly Proportional Steps

In our first example we had 9 cans of paint in a ratio of blue to red of 5:3. What would we need if we doubled the amount of paint in direct proportion?
We would double the amount of blue paint.    5 x 2 = 10
We would double the amount of red paint.    3 x 2 = 6
We would need 10 cans of blue and 6 cans of red paint.
Here are some more examples of the types of problems that can be solved using direct proportion.

This is a collection of word problem solvers that solve your problems and help you understand the solutions. All problems are customizable (meaning that you can change all parameters). We try to have a comprehensive collection of school algebra problems. The good news is that the steps to solve word problems are always the same. The bad news is that you may have to think pretty hard.

Bài giảng Toán 5 - Tiết 14 Luyện tập chung  Teach Dividing mixed numbers

Dividing mixed numbers is very similar to multiplying mixed numbers. You just add one step—after changing the divisor into an improper fraction, you then find its reciprocal and multiply. Let's work through a "word problem" example.

I find this is the best way to add mixed fractions:
- convert them to Improper Fractions
-  then add them (using Addition of Fractions)
-  then convert back to Mixed Fractions:
Example: What is  2 3/ 4  +  3 1/ 2   ?
Convert to Improper Fractions:
